Palo Santo (Bursera Graveolens) is a mystical tree that grows on the coast of South America and is related to Frankincense, Myrrh and Copal. In Spanish, the name literally means “Holy Wood”. It is part of the citrus family and has sweet light notes of pine, mint and lemon. The scent is used as part of an aromatherapy routine to calm and soothe, helping reduce anxiety and improve concentration.
Palo Santo offers antioxidants and anti-inflammatory benefits to our skin. It is antiseptic and works similar to carrot seed or tea tree oil. Combined with butters and oils moisturises and soothes our skin.
